Our visit to Genting Highlands was a very enriching experience, we have gained knowledge as well as enjoyed the trip. Starting from the very beginning, the transportation to Genting Highlands was accessible and very organised. We looked up the bus schedule online and planned our trip accordingly. During the trip, we noticed that not only foreigners visited Genting Highlands, but many locals as well.
The scenery on our way to Genting Highlands was something we thoroughly appreciated. Despite the rough roads and never-ending turns, the journey was quick and smooth. Our first stop was Genting Highlands Premium Outlet. As our goal was not shopping, we only took a short stroll around the outlet. The outlet offers the opportunity to shop at many high-end international brands. We were also able to see the beautiful scenery around the outlet.
In order to visit our next spot, we took a cable car, Awana SkyWay, up the mountains. This was one of the highlights of our trip as the scenery was mind-blowing. We stopped at the Chin Swee Cave Temple where we visit numerous of its monuments. Although we come from different races and backgrounds, we found it very enlightening. The nine-storey Pagoda was a lot taller than we have imagined. At the temple, most of the people who visited were foreigners. We met Koreans, Egyptians, Chinese and Indonesians. The weather at the temple was also remarkable, it was extremely windy and chilly.
We also visited SkyAvenue Shopping Mall where the indoor theme park is located. Although it is not huge, the theme park was very lively. We also watched the SkySymphony, which showcased a Chinese New Year theme. While walking around, we passed by the entrance of Genting Casino, which is one of Genting Highlands’ main attractions.
Overall, we benefited greatly from this trip. Our main findings were, first, it is important to plan your transportation beforehand, especially on weekends. Second, Genting Highlands is visited by both foreigners and locals. Third, there are various activities in Genting Highlands that can accommodate people of all ages. Fourth, it is important to dress warmly as it can be chilly and very windy. Lastly, a trip to Genting Highlands can be budget-friendly, hence you can easily spend a day there without spending much, yet still have an enjoyable getaway!
