Genting Highlands' Worship Places

Chin Swee Caves Temple

Chin Swee Caves Temple, one of Genting Highlands’ greatest landmarks, is a Taoist shrine constructed to pay homage to Buddhist monk Reverend Master Chin Swee who was worshipped for his supernatural powers. Not only is the temple visited by Buddhists, but also locals and tourists of other religions who wish to explore the numerous monuments and enjoy the picturesque view.

Once you enter the temple you are greeted with the Dragon Wall of Luck, a huge wall with nine dragons of different colours, resembling different types of luck. The carvings on the wall make it a perfect spot for photo-taking, not to mention the giant statues of Buddha and Kuan Yin that also make great photoshoot locations.

The most notable attraction of the Chin Swee Caves Temple is the outstanding nine-storey Pagoda, where thousands, originally 10,000, blessing lamps are situated to bless worshippers. Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to walk up the stairs to watch the beautiful scenery from the top of Pagoda.

Besides Pagoda and the Dragon Wall of Luck, the Ten Chambers of Hell is favoured by many. Life-sized figurines are set in each chamber portraying the different punishments humans will receive depending on their sins, which are based on Chinese beliefs.

The temple could be accessed via Awana SkyWay, car or bus. However, the easiest and most recommended route would be through the Awana SkyWay cable car as you could visit both the temple and the peak of Genting Highlands (where other attractions are located) by buying a single ticket only.

Mohamed Noah Foundation Mosque

Named after one of the founder members of Genting Highlands Tan Sri Mohammad Noah, Mohamed Noah Foundation Mosque is the sole mosque in Genting Highlands. The mosque was first established in 1981 in order to facilitate Muslims visiting or working at Genting Highlands.

Although not very well-known, the mosque’s architecture is remarkable, both from the outside and the inside.
